Okay guys.. This is taking it to far. It’s being reported that Christian ministers who refused to marry gay couples in their church are being threatened with jail time and fines.

Both Ordained ministers have filed a federal lawsuit and are seeking a restraining order to prevent local officials from making it mandatory for them to marry gay couples in their church.

Donald and Evelyn Knapp are the founders of Hitching Post Wedding Chapel in Idaho. According to the Knapps they could “face months in jail and/or thousands of dollars in fines,” if they don’t conduct same-sex marriages at their chapel. According to Alliance Defending Freedom, the firm representing the ministers, the couple could face up to 180 days in jail or $1,000 in fines for their refusal.

According to the complaint, “Each day the Knapps decline to perform a requested same-sex wedding ceremony, they commit a separate and distinct misdemeanor, subject to the same penalties.

I personally feel like this is going too far. I’m no bigot or hater but whatever happened to freedom?
